In winter

Offcourse Sainte Foy is attractive for its skiing and snowboarding (on and off piste), but there are more snow activities. A small summary of the possibilities:

  • snow shoe (raquettes) walking - 5 signed tracks are available;
  • telemark skiing - you can rent these skis for a day to try it out;
  • sledging after 16.30 in the village;
  • snow seaters - to take up to the pistes;
  • exercise your back- and front flips on a big black "pillow";
  • a dog sledge tour;
  • special off piste tours with a guide of the Ecole Ski de France: ESF.

For actual information please, check the site of the Office du Tourism de Sainte Foy Tarentaise.

The center of Sainte Foy Station has several restaurants and bars, different in pricing and atmosphere. They all offer hospitality.

The tourist bureau organises constantly different activities for which you can enroll. Check out the actual situation via their site or visit the "Bureau du Tourism", located at Sainte Foy Station next to the stairway that connects the wooden deck and the level lower. A non-limited list of possible activities in wintertime are:

  • a small market with products from the region, crepes and hot wine;
  • a fire torch skiing tour, organised by the ESF every Thursday end of day: gathering at Plan Bois at 17.00, guided by the ski-teachers skiing down the green slope to the village;
  • a carriage horse show;
  • smashing fire works at New Year's Eve;
  • stunt shows by boarders and skiers;
  • presentations on flora and fauna;
  • hicking tours with or without raquettes;
  • etc.
